Who We Are

Scotland Storm Community Development, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides free after-school and summer academic and sports programs for children from the historic Scotland Community in Potomac, Maryland.

Scotland Storm launched in September 2013, offering homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, and sports fun for underserved Bells Mill Elementary and Cabin John Middle School students. Scotland Storm has been operating ever since at Cabin John Middle School. Scotland Storm runs Monday-Thursday afternoons after school until 6 p.m. We also offer five-six week academic and sports fun programs every summer.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Scotland Storm is to provide students of the Scotland Community in Potomac, MD with the support and foundational skills needed for success in school. We strive to create a safe space where our caring staff can motivate and nurture students about grades, promote homework compliance, help students prepare for tests, and address specific areas of academic need for individual students. Our goal is to teach students a love for learning and to have students take pride in their academic success.
